Scene-maker Rueben Williams brings his veteran Reggae/Ska

band, FIREBRAIN, to The Broadside in New Orleans for "FREE MELLOW

MOOD MONDAYS" in JULY. The free weekly shows run from 7:00 PM to 9:30

PM, blending classic Jamaican reggae with punchy ska, tight horns, and

heavy Louisiana roots. FIREBRAIN features members of 4 for Nothing, The

Uppressors, the Jamaican Me Breakfast Club, Creole String Beans, and CHA WA. Get

ready for a great evening of Reggae music with special guest and musical surprises

New Orleans, Louisiana’s ska-reggae scene gets a fresh jolt from this band featuring members of 4 For Nothing and The Uppressors. Blending classic Jamaican rhythms with punchy ska upstrokes, tight horn lines, and the grit of their hometown roots, the group delivers high-energy songs built for sweaty club nights.  The band is currently releasing new music on Spotify—dropping 33 years worth of tracks that showcase the beggining of the band journey until  now along  with a signature mix of ska, reggae, and roots rock.

The New Orelans Ska Sessions take  on some of city's classic songs and  blends them in with originals about the hard biting truth of the growing up in the south and living in New Orleans. It is fun record with a sting.
